Qualcomm, China's Sanmu Reach 3G License Agreement

Qualcomm and Shenzhen Sanmu, a Hong Kong-based mobile phone and terminal solution supplier, have signed a worldwide royalty-bearing patent license agreement, according to a press release by Qualcomm on April 29. Pursuant to the agreement, Sanmu will be granted to utilize Qualcomm's patents in the development, manufacturing, and sales of 3G modules and modem cards based on CDMA2000 (Code Division Multiple Access 2000) and/or TD-SCDMA (Time Division-Synchronous CDMA) standards. Additionally, Sanmu will be charged for royalties at Qualcomm's standard worldwide rates.
